Job description

This post is based within the Digital Design Team who are part of the Operational Capabilities Command (OCC) Hub that sits within Enforcement, Compliance and Crime (ECC). 

The OCC ensure operational colleagues have the skills, capabilities, tools, and infrastructure which are modern, environmentally sustainable, fit for purpose and allow all our people to maximise their operational effectiveness.

As a delivery command, we will also provide centralised monitoring and response co-ordination. We have a highly skilled and capable workforce and recognise the importance of continued training and development and this command will act as the Immigration Enforcement centre of excellence for all training needs. 

We want to deliver business functions in a more consistent manner to both deliver efficiency and enhance inter-operability across the ECC command, sustaining our operational priorities and programmes, now and into the future.

The Digital Design Team is a newly formed team, who work closely across ECC with partners to support innovative digital design and delivery of digital content to enhance the training we offer across Immigration Enforcement. 

As a Digital Design Support Officer, you will work alongside our Digital Design Team to provide business and administrative support to the team as well as enhance capabilities by providing governance and assurance – acting as an advocate for the digital agenda and advise and engage across ECC as to where digital products can be implemented and in what format. 

As an Executive Officer (EO) you will work to a Higher Executive Officer (HEO) Digital Designer and take responsibility for providing all administrative support to the team as they work to development products.  There will be an opportunity to undertake training to build your Digital skills, knowledge, and awareness. 

You will be a team player, and enjoy working with a range of colleagues, but you will also be someone who can work with minimal supervision when required. You will use your initiative-taking attitude and good judgement to help your team respond to urgent activities and adapt to support wider team goals.

You may undertake some travel nationally to attend meetings, deliver training and produce digital content which will involve overnight stays.

Business requirements mean this role is based in Leeds however, frequent attendance to the Croydon office and other nationwide Immigration Enforcement locations will be required. There is no shift working requirement, and therefore no AHW allowance available for this post/these posts

Person specification

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

•    Regularly monitoring the team inbox and SharePoint platform, actioning requests, and responding to commissions at pace.

•    Managing the team’s online file storage area including maintenance of governance records, stakeholder lists, and other related business management documents. 

•    Actioning Purchase Orders, monitoring licences and supporting Project delivery through Entry Gate processes (DDaT). 

•    Maintenance of the Digital Team’s SharePoint page, promoting the teams’ capabilities and service offering across ECC and the OCC to support delivery of the Illegal Migration Act and Prime Ministers 10 point plan. 

•    Working with the Digital Designers, frequently out within business areas and IE Events to assist in the planning and organisation of logistics (Event recordings, photography, and podcasts etc). 

Essential criteria

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:

• Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office 365 suite and applications such as MS Teams, SharePoint, Planner, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and One Note.

• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people orally and in writing.

• Good organisational skills.

• A good degree of flexibility with a record of working proactively.

• Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external delivery partners, building positive relationships to achieve mutual objectives.

Desirable criteria

• Experience in digital media, editing, filming, photography, or podcasts.

Sift and Interview dates
