FCDO Services protect the UK’s interests across the world. We’re a trusted government partner, providing secure construction, logistics, translation and technology services to customers at home, and overseas. From building and repairing embassies to securing government servers, we aim to be a world-class provider of government operational support. And right at the heart of that work? It’s our people. That’s why it’s vital that we can rely on a robust HR service that meets the needs of our business.

Job description

Lead a team delivering an unrivalled service

As our Systems and Insight Lead, you’ll draw on your experience managing and developing HR systems and maximising data insights to this newly-created role. In doing so, you’ll lead the digital automation programme for HR. That means you’ll provide clear and reliable data insights based on people analytics. You’ll oversee the testing of all new modules and upgrades prior to going live to ensure smooth transitions. When HR data is needed, you’ll make sure it’s available in a timely manner. And of course, you’ll make sure the systems are easy to use.

With your analytical skills (ideally with a focus on Excel and PowerBi), you’ll identify qualitative and quantitative data and information sources that’ll underpin key insights. From managing Insight Team resources to overseeing the delivery of monthly MI products, you’ll help drive change right across the organisation.

Collaborate with colleagues to drive improvement

We’re always focused on customer service; on building relationships and being reliable, responsive, and easy to work with. You’ll seek to understand the requirements of our business leaders within the context of the wider organisation. Working closely with the HR Senior Leadership Team, the wider HR team and the system user community, you’ll answer their questions, build trust – and cement the importance of insights.

And as a manager, you’ll lead by example as you advise, coach and mentor to grow the Systems and Insight Team’s capabilities. You might even represent FCDO Services at cross-government forums and working parties. In short, you’ll be a relationship builder, an influencer, and a great collaborator able to get the very best out of technology, and your team.

Grow a career bigger than you imagined

When you join us, you’ll be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas. In return you’ll receive a competitive salary, 25 days’ annual leave and an excellent Civil Service pension. You’ll also have access to a wide range of training and development opportunities. Depending on business need, we offer hybrid working between the office and home. And while on-site, you’ll have access to an on-site gym, nursery, canteen, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. Above all else, you’ll feel pride in doing work that helps us protect people, information and assets here and overseas. It’s time to do your job, bigger.
