 HMS RALEIGH is the initial training establishment for ratings of the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary. It is situated on the outskirts of Torpoint, a town on the Rame Peninsula in southeast Cornwall. HMS RALEIGH consists of 6 training schools (Ph1 - 3) and 2 operational units.

 This position works indirectly for Navy Command directorate, located at HMS Raleigh, responsible directly to the Captain, HMS Raleigh, via the Executive Officer (Commander).

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

 

Job description

The Energy and Environmental & Fire Protection Advisor (EEFPA): will support the Raleigh Executive in the development of an effective energy and environmental management system for HMS Raleigh and Outstations which meets appropriate legislation and MOD policy (i.e. defence publications).

The role is to provide information and oversight to the Command and wider authorities as necessary regarding Utility Matters and use, and Environmental Protection, and Fire safety Management, the role is also the estate focal point for Fire safety and the establishment fuels operating authority.  Subsidiary roles also involve noise, climate change, biodiversity, conservation, waste management and radiation protection.

Selection process details
