With one of the largest organisational change portfolios, this is an exciting time to join the Transformation Directorate within Customer Compliance Group (CCG).

Within CCG Transformation, a significant part of our role is working with the wider HMRC portfolio of projects and programmes including Making Tax Digital and the Single Customer Account Programme as well as those that are CCG-led such as Digital Disclosure Service, Self-Assessment Risking and Strategic Returns Analysis Tool projects, to support the end-to-end change lifecycle of business-critical systems from early design through to business readiness and embedding activity.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Diary Manager/ Executive Assistant. Someone who is highly organised and can work at pace. A proactive diary manager, with a good understanding of what the priorities are. Using your great judgement, ensuring meetings happen at the right time engaging with other offices to deliver.

Being that key point of contact for matters relating to the Director's/Deputy Director’s calendar and be confident in issuing invites, booking rooms and monitoring attendee responses. This role would ideally suit someone who confidently manages their own workload, prioritising appropriately and is keen develop their skills to further their career.  

Engaging with Senior Leaders which compliments your excellent communication skills both orally and written as you will be communicating across the area at all levels.

About You

• Effective diary management, ensuring meetings are well organised and the Director's/Deputy Director’s time is prioritised appropriately.  
• Confidently manage Senior leaders and take minutes/actions at Senior leader meetings.
• Ensure work commissions are picked up/dealt with promptly by deadlines, develop forward look plan and ensure day to day activities are built in and time allowed for briefing and sign off.
• Support the Head of Office in delivering team goals, including contributions to corporate objectives.
• Provide cover within the Private office and pick up ad hoc queries/tasks.

Essential Criteria:

 Overview of the skills required for the candidate to be successful in the role.

• Excellent working knowledge of Outlook and Office365 alongside good digital awareness.
• Capable of multi-tasking at pace and under pressure
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement
• Pro-active and forward looking.

Desirable Criteria:

•  Previous experience working in a Private Office environment or managing a busy diary would be beneficial, although not essential.

Interview

During the panel interview, your experience will be assessed, and you will be asked behaviour-based questions to explore in detail what you are capable of, and you will be asked strength-based questions to also explore what you enjoy and your motivations relevant to the job role.

There is no expectation or requirement for you to prepare for the strengths-based questions in advance of the interview, though you may find it helpful to spend some time reflecting on what you enjoy doing and what you do well.
