The Non-mainline team supervises GB’s non-mainline railway systems, including London’s metro rail services, tramways, light rail; and independent heritage and minor railways. We provide strategic direction & focus on the management of safety risk.
Job description
Job Purpose
Civil engineering assets represent a significant proportion of the infrastructure of the railway. Your engineering skills will support work to secure dutyholder compliance with health and safety legislation in this topic area.
You will work closely with colleagues within Railway Safety to provide specialist support and advice on civil engineering-related matters to enable them to carry out their duty as HM Inspectors, and to deliver inspection and investigation work on your own.
The work of the specialist inspection team spans multiple parts of the railway industry, including the mainline, London Underground, tramways and heritage railway. You may carry out work on civil engineering matters across any of these industry segments.
