Here at Defence Medical Services (DMS) HQ, we are inclusive and dedicated, working to provide excellent care to our entitled personnel.

We are looking for a friendly, well-organised and adaptable Information Assurance Assistant Manager to join our team of professionals working within Coltman House at DMS Whittington. 

The Defence Medical Services offer hybrid working. The HQ and primary location for the DMS is Lichfield.  Other base locations may be available depending on business need and whether the location can accommodate additional personnel on site. Other locations that may be considered are MOD Corsham, RAF Wyton, MOD Abbey Wood – Bristol, MOD Northwood and MOD Shrivenham.

Job description

The successful candidate will work within Defence Medical Services (DMS) and sit in the Chief Digital Information Office (CDIO) function. CDIO is at the heart of future healthcare delivery and provides innovative Digital, Information and Data solutions to enhance patient experience. As the Information Assurance Assistant, you will be a critical enabler in driving forward the delivery of tasks to ensure that the Higher Level Budget (HLB) and it's partners is operating at the required levels of Information Assurance Maturity and offers and opportunity to make a significant contribution towards ensuring the business remains compliant with current legislative requirements.

Person specification

The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving the maintenance of the Information Assurance Frameworks for DMS including conducting IA validation checks/reviews. Ensure any areas below that expected have an improvement plan in place.
  • Be responsible for escalating impending information risk identified through validations or otherwise to the business before they become issues where possible.
  • Support the business to administer the DMS Information Asset Register, and work with business to gather evidence needed to information assurance maturity purposes.
