Job summary

Working with a team within Transaction Services, the Head of Transaction Services will play a critical role in providing assurance that processes are compliant with Government Functional Standards, spend controls, governance and internal controls. This is to be achieved by ensuring fit for purpose systems, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business, whilst ensuring oversight of all processes delivered by the Transaction Services Team and its relationship with the wider Finance Team.

Job description

We are looking for an individual with significant experience in the delivery and improvement of finance activities ensuring they are efficient, provide value for money and support the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.

You will be joining our small but experienced team of 19 people, who are committed to delivering a first class frontline operation to support achievement of our strategic objectives through accuracy and integrity of transaction processing.

Person specification

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

Support senior managers to prioritise workload, monitor resource to maintain effective controls and efficiencies.

Ensure whole team has sufficient knowledge and skills to deliver in their roles, supporting line managers where needed with development and performance management.

Advise senior leaders on key matters, escalating issues as required.

Be a visible leader and act as a point of challenge.

Drive efficiencies and effectiveness of the team, processes, data and systems to enable the delivery of Homes England Strategic Plan.  

You will be experienced in all aspects of transaction finance processing including accounts payable, accounts receivable, insurance and lease cars. 

You will be comfortable to develop and lead an efficient and motivated team to deliver accurate and timely transaction services, promoting an inclusive culture with ambition, innovation, creativity and customer focus.
