Job summary

As part of the Ministry of Justice Property Senior Leadership Team, the Capital Construction Delivery Director will be a key part of the strategic management of the second largest estates portfolio in government. There is an opportunity to impact across this and work with colleagues to ensure it continues to meet needs in a changing and challenging environment.

This role is responsible for delivery of a key ministerial priority in the timely delivery of the Rapid Deployment Cell Programme (RDCP) in a testing environment as a part of the 20k places, the house block & refurbishment programme and accelerated house block programme. Additionally, it will provide property options and delivery for the long- and medium-term capacity programmes.

Working in mainly live environments this is a complex programme which you will develop and deliver working with prison service (HMPPS) colleagues and use your knowledge and skills to put forward the best routes and opportunities.

Working closely with a wide variety of stakeholders you will lead a team of internal staff and multi-disciplinary partners to deliver the programme. Delivering these spaces to time and cost means that we will have more of the decent and safe accommodation for prisoners to live and work in, supporting the right interventions and rehabilitation.

This is a Nationally based role.

Collaborating with other functional senior leaders to build and maintain an environment to work at an appropriate pace to ensure projects and programmes are delivered to time, cost and quality and the appropriate controls are in place.

Provide clear property and project advice to Ministers and senior leaders.

Work with and support senior responsible owners to develop their strategic delivery plans.

Effective management and control of budgets, including cashflow, where delegated financial authority has been provided.
