The Chief Operating Office is a newly formed directorate in Homes England; it is the ‘engine room’ and spine of the organisation and provides a range of services that support both operational and change delivery across the organisation. 

Job description

Having recognised the need for an effective Portfolio Management function to connect the Agency’s project delivery to its strategic objectives, the COO has established a new Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and is now looking to recruit an experienced Business Change Management professional.

 

The Head of Business Change Management will play a critical role in supporting Amy Pritchard, the Director of Enterprise Portfolio & Change, in providing a visible and effective business change management function within the Enterprise Portfolio, to ensure successful delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives.  

 

This is a rare opportunity to join the new EPMO and to help shape both its future and the future of Change Delivery in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. The successful candidate will be joining a newly formed, small, but enthusiastic team who are committed to building and growing a successful EPMO function and making a positive impact in terms of how the Agency delivers Change.  

Person specification

This role will suit a business change professional with extensive experience of working with highly complex change programmes and projects, preferably in the public sector.

 

You will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.  You'll be comfortable in tackling complex issues and operating in an environment of uncertainty and continual change, where the ability to adapt at pace will be key. Above all, you will have extensive experience as a project delivery / change practitioner providing the bridge between change initiatives and business users, where the realisation of business benefits is critical.

 

You will be comfortable managing colleagues and stakeholders at a senior level, and able to build strong networks across the organisation and project delivery community, working in a collaborative, inclusive way.  You will be committed to role modelling and living our values and behaviours in everything you do.
