Job summary

Working in a team and to the Northern Assistant Director of Acquisitions and Partnering, the Head of Acquisitions role will play a critical role in unlocking and delivering complex land assembly and regeneration opportunities. You will be joining our enthusiastic/friendly/talented/highly skilled/experienced team of 10 people, who are committed to making positive change in how we create and deliver high quality homes.

The National Acquisitions Director believes in delivering a first-class customer service, resolving issues informally wherever possible, taking an innovative and creative approach to complex development issues. The teamwork in a collaborative/flexible way to foster good decision making and problem solving.

This is a rare chance to shape the future housing and regeneration in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional acquisitions teams team you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of complex property matters and the have the opportunity to help create high quality and thriving developments, with a focus on regeneration.

The role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects around Yorkshire and the Humber. The Head of Acquisitions will also play a key role in assembling land in Sheffield. There are some exciting/rewarding/creative/ambitious projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to regeneration and the delivery of quality homes.

Person specification

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders and partners, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You'll be comfortable supporting the National Acquisitions Team with complex land assembly/land acquisitions issues, aiming to unlock complex, difficult, and stalled sites. You will be proficient in understanding the complexities associated with site identification, negotiation, land appraisal tools, land assembly and understanding the delivery of quality homes.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an Acquisitions and Partnering team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

As an experienced property professionalprofessional, you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
