Job summary

Help to Buy was a Government initiative designed to help customers to buy their first home.  We have supported the purchase of more than 380,000 homes since launch the scheme was launched.  Help to Buy is one of the UK’s largest mortgage lenders, we have more than 240,000 live loans, and a balance sheet of c£17bn.

Working in a team with Matthew Smithies – Our Assistant Director Portfolio Data & Analytics, the newly created role of Head of Credit Data & Reporting will play a critical role in supporting our customers, ensuring key initiatives are delivered and we continually improve our data and reporting.  Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will use all available data to ensure we have accurate, consistent reporting, and can deliver planned enhancements to the Help to Buy Portfolio.  You will also be responsible for bringing together two existing teams and an exciting opportunity to influence and shape the Help to Buy Portfolio as we move into a stewardship role.

The Portfolio Data & Analytics team are dedicated to delivering a first-class customer service, taking an innovative and creative approach to support both our customers, and ensuring value for money.   Matthew believes in working in a collaborative way to foster good decision making and problem solving within their team.  A key part of the role is working with Digital and Data colleagues, ensuring HtB data on the platform is secure, useable and we have the ability to share data with third parties.

Working with key stakeholders across both Home Ownership and the wider Homes England Teams, you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of known challenges and the have the opportunity to help create improved customer outcomes.

Person specification

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders on Help to Buy, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You'll be comfortable supporting the wider Help to Buy Directorate with complex data issues, aiming to improve the overall quality of our Data & Reporting to ensure we have a consistent and accurate view of our customers. You will balance the need for technical understanding whilst working with internal and external stakeholders to influence significant change.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an Portfolio team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

As an experienced Data and analytics professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
