Job summary

The grasslands of Madagascar and their flora have been a focus of Kew research for over ten years, with a well-established professional network in Madagascar delivering diversity documentation, ecology, development, and climate adaptation. This role is part of our new Global Centre for Biodiversity and Climate (GCBC) project “Optimised spatial resource management of Madagascar's open grassy ecosystems supporting livelihoods, climate and biodiversity in a global biodiversity hotspot”.

Job description

Experienced in UK government funded project and financial management and reporting, ideally in the science and biodiversity conservation sector with knowledge of biodiversity, conservation, or carbon capture, the ideal candidate will have an interest in Madagascar and in grassland flora, demonstrating ability to plan and deliver project reporting in dynamic situations in developing countries.

Person specification

Must be a proactive communicator with people of different backgrounds and nationalities, able to establish good relationships, communicate with clarity and confidence and establish influence with all project stakeholders, able to independently manage data and deliver to deadlines. The post holder will also have an opportunity to contribute to scientific research and publications.

This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements. The role includes annual visits to Madagascar.

Interviews are planned for late February, ideally in person but online also possible.
