About the Team   

The Resource Management team is responsible for financial planning, monitoring and processing, and procurement and contract management. As a team, we are passionate about helping the organisation to deliver effectively, while also ensuring that colleagues are aligned with our processes to drive best use of public money.

We are looking for a resilient individual to join the team to lead our busy financial information and processing activity. Reporting to the Head of Resource Management, you will lead relationships with DBT and OGD Finance teams to ensure strong information reporting and forecasting for the effective and efficient use of public funds across OPSS. You will provide insight and advice to other sections of the Resource Management team, ensuring that financial management disciplines are embedded.  

You should be comfortable working with complex data and be able to interpret and communicate this information in depth, being collaborative in your approach. You should work well under your own direction and be able to find opportunities to add value above and beyond existing processes. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • ​​Build and handle effective relationships and networks with DBT and OGD finance teams, acting as the lead point of contact for DBT Group Finance.
  • ​Lead on monthly financial forecasting to DBT and OGD finance teams, including escalating risks and resolving queries.   
  • ​Lead on improving and maintaining the accuracy of data held in key systems relating to OPSS financial resourcing.  
  • ​Ensure compliance with all financial controls, and that policies and procedures operate effectively. 
  • ​Work closely with the G7 Reporting and Procurement leads to strengthen processes across the Resource Management team.  
  • ​Lead the financial processing function to ensure an efficient service to teams across OPSS (you will be responsible for managing the SEO Team Leader).
  • ​Work productively with other team members to ensure the successful delivery of all aspects of its work, including procurement, commercial, risk and project management.

  • ​Ability to work to tight deadlines.
