About the role
We are seeking a number of Financial Sustainability Consultants to join our Regulation Directorate. This role is critical in protecting student interests through rigorous financial monitoring of higher education (HE) providers. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant who is experienced operating at a senior level, with a strong background in financial management, auditing, and an understanding of the higher education sector.
Key Responsibilities
You will be engaging with senior management at HE providers to review financial information, evaluate how they are managing financial risk and test the credibility of financial plans and contingencies.
You will review financial management and governance structures, providing OfS with assurance that providers are securing financial sustainability for the protection of students.
You will make appropriate recommendations to OfS to support and improve our regulation of provider financial sustainability and will monitor improvement plans.
Person specification
Essential experience, skills and knowledge
A qualified accountant, you will have extensive experience in financial management and auditing/financial interrogation. With proven experience of engagement with senior management, you will bring excellent communication skills as well as strong relationship management.
