Job summary

Are you highly skilled in financial reporting and analysis? Looking for a role that’s yours to shape? Up for a new challenge with a one-of-a-kind purpose? Then this could be your job, bigger.

At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests around the world. We design and construct secure government buildings. We help earthquake-proof embassies. We courier diplomatic packages across continents. We keep complex projects on track, and on budget. We store visa applications safely in the Cloud. And a whole lot more besides. Here, you’ll find the purpose of public sector work, in an organisation that’s commercially minded. Which means that in our finance teams, you’ll find the best of both worlds – a chance to play a key part in complex projects around the world, all while knowing your work supports an important and purposeful mission.

Use your expertise to support projects with global reach

And when it comes to our mission, your role will be crucial. As we provide vital services to our government-level customers, you’ll keep a keen eye on the figures. From owning our pricing tools to completing regular financial projections, you’ll maintain an up-to-date account of FCDO Services’ financial performance. You’ll be called on to provide regular management information to senior leaders to support decision making. And you’ll be responsible for regular forecasting to ensure our projects, and overall commercials, stay on track.

As we prepare for the future, you’ll also play a key role in expanding our business. As we grow, you’ll become the subject matter expert for our new reporting system, Oracle. And you’ll develop and adapt our reporting and planning systems as the needs of our organisation transforms. This is a role that you’ll have the power to shape and truly make your own, and where you’ll have clear progression opportunities to support your future career development, if you want them.

Put your stamp on a role that supports a one-of-a-kind mission

You’ll need a high level of skill in financial reporting, management information, and Excel modelling. And you’ll ideally be partly or fully qualified in ACCA (or equivalent). You will be able to clearly articulate financial information and concepts to non-financial colleagues, and that you’re comfortable working on both a strategic and operational level. You have an in-depth understanding of the relationship between costs, margins, and markups. And your organisational skills are second-to-none, meaning you’ve got the ability to meet deadlines and juggle a diverse workload, all while prioritising great customer service.

Job description

You’ll also be a natural team player who’s easy to work with, great at building relationships and skilful at engaging others in finance-focused discussions. And you’ll feel comfortable interacting with
stakeholders of all levels, from all departments, and be able to adapt your style accordingly. Above all else you’ll be motived by our mission purpose. Someone who’s responsive to and supportive of your colleagues. And who can be relied on to provide high-quality and accurate analysis while working at a fast pace.

Complete expert financial analysis and take our business into the future

And as for what we do for you, we offer a competitive salary, 25-30 days’ annual leave per year (depending on length of service) and a Civil Service pension. We also invest in our people – so you’ll have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, canteen and restaurants, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. Dependant on business need, you’ll also have the option to work from home in a hybrid way. Then there’s the fact we can offer your job, bigger. This is a place where everything you do will contribute to protecting the UK’s interests at home and overseas. And on top of that, in your role as Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, your personal contribution has the potential to really make an impact on our future growth. This a rare opportunity, where you can really make your mark on the incredible work we do, along with getting all the support you need to grow your career.
