Job summary

To assist the Accounts Payable team in maintaining a complete and accurate purchase ledger by processing invoices via our finance system and by performing an audit role for other payment methods used. You will ensure all deadlines are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner whilst adhering to all defined policies.

Job description

  • To verify and process new supplier set ups and amendment requests, providing guidance as required.
  • Process purchase invoices into our finance system in line with policy and guidance.
  • Monitor and manage the team mailbox, ensuring correspondence is managed effectively and dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
  • Undertake audit checks on Government Procurement Cards for cardholders within your allocated departments in line with current policy and guidance.
  • Process purchase order requests from colleagues in line with current policy and guidance.
  • Monitor and manage the live purchase orders within your allocated departments.

Person specification

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs/Standard Graded or equivalent (A-C passes) including Math and English Language is required and/or significant experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience of working within a Transactional processing team or related Finance function.
  • Experience of using MS Office suite of applications.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
