Job description

Working in a small team with the Facilities Manager,  the Facilities Assistant will play a critical role in Homes England. You will be joining our small but enthusiastic and friendly team of 3 people, who are committed to making positive change in how we operate the Homes England Newcastle office.

 

In summary the role will provide an efficient and comprehensive service within the facilities management team, which involves a high-quality reception service, a high level of customer service ensuring the safety and security of staff, external visitors, and partners.

 

The Facilities Manager believes in delivering a first-class customer service, resolving tasks and requests informally wherever possible, taking an innovative and creative approach to more complex issues. The Facilities Team believes in working in a collaborative/flexible way that  values diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making and problem solving within the team.

The role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects around England. There are some exciting projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the table.

Person specification

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders be it internal or external facing you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

 

You'll be comfortable supporting a busy Newcastle office but also be required to provide facilities support at Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool office locations when required.

 

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a Facilities team.  You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

 

As an experienced Facilities Assistant you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative and inclusive way.

 

We are looking for someone who has:

- Minimum of five GCSEs (A to C grades) or business related BTEC, HND Intermediate level

- Good technological competency, this role will require the use of specialist software and installations.  Microsoft Office capability - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

- Desirable: Recognised qualification in Facilities Management e.g., Level 2/3 qualification in Facilities Management and / or Associate Grade with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (AIWFM) and / or safety related qualification, such as, IOSH Managing Safety.

 

The post holder will be expected to undertake further personal development in the field of Facilities Management, Security, Health and Safety and Customer Services.
