Job summary

Develop innovative communication systems using Embedded Linux.

The role

You will use your skills and experience to develop across the full Linux stack to produce new communication systems.

You will be joining a team of engineers working on new product developments in radio and control systems.

Your existing knowledge of embedded software development and electronics will help you to program our complex products.

You will get involved in system design, software architecture, and coding.

You'll enjoy working with engineers from other disciplines to develop systems

Person specification

We use the DDaT Software Developer Role, that means we need you to already have: 

  • Significant C/C++ coding experience.
  • Experience in kernel and application development for Embedded Linux.
  • Knowledge of Linux build systems, such as Yocto.
  • The ability to debug complex systems with software and hardware tools.

To strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Experience in software defined radio or digital signal processing.
  • Knowledge of interfacing to FPGAs or other custom electronics
  • Experience with the Git version control tool, preferably using Bitbucket.
  • Ability to architect complex software applications.
  • A degree in electronics or similar, plus several years relevant work experience.
