About the job

Job summary

You’re brilliant at cultivating strategic networks in a large organisation. You’re superb at coming up with innovative solutions that meet the dynamic needs of a business like ours. The skills and knowledge you possess are profound and wide-ranging. But now you want to develop your career into something that has more significance and importance. You want to do your job, but bigger. Look no further, because we’ve got the perfect opportunity for you.

As a trusted government partner, we work on a huge range of projects, and help protect the UK’s interests around the world. We design and construct secure government buildings. We help earthquake-proof embassies. We keep complex projects on track, and on budget. And a whole lot more besides. Now, we’re looking for an Early Talent Development Lead to formulate and implement graduate programmes, fast-track schemes and other initiatives.

Job description

Devise a range of innovative development programmes

When you join us in this newly established role, you’ll work with your colleagues in the Talent and Development team to design, craft and supervise a range of innovative non-apprenticeship programmes that meet the demands of our organisation, whilst still being involved in our long-established apprenticeships. As an experienced Subject Matter Expert, you’ll work proactively with the wider business to understand their needs, devise the best solutions and act as an inspirational and positive influencer.

Exchange ideas and research the latest trends

A key part of your role will involve exchanging ideas and insights with similar government agencies as you shape our early years offering. Always ready to articulate compelling arguments and draft governance proposals for budgetary consideration, you’ll be committed to researching the latest trends and developments, and using this knowledge to generate and evaluate new project proposals. Of course, you’ll be dedicated to identifying and forging links with new partners and cultivating existing relationships with our suppliers and accrediting bodies.

Apply your skills to a role that supports our global mission

With extensive experience in a similar role with an organisation of comparable size and complexity to ours, you’ll also have a role to play in our apprenticeships and so will have a nuanced understanding of the intricacies surrounding the Government Apprenticeship Levy. We’ll look for hands-on experience of drafting formal board papers, and in addition to possessing a compelling and engaging communication style that allows you to build relationships at a senior level, you’ll be a brilliant collaborator. You should also be capable of using data and evidence to make decisions, and have experience of managing budgets and producing accurate management information.

Grow your career in the biggest way possible

When you join us, you’ll be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas – but how will we help you in return? As well as a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and Civil Service pension, we’ll also support your development with training opportunities to help you advance your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, canteen, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. And if you want to work from home some of the time, we also offer hybrid working opportunities. It’s a superb package of benefits as you find people to help us protect our assets around the world.

All our employees have to be security cleared before being appointed, so you’ll need to undergo a vetting process (SC) if successful in your application. You can find out more about vetting on our careers website.
