Job summary

We are currently looking for a Diversity & Staff Engagement Coordinator to join our Human Resources-Diversity & Staff Engagement Team within the Corporate group.

This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU with occasional travel to South Mimms, Hertfordshire. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.  

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.

We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly. Remote working is potentially available for some specific roles. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.  

The HR/People function is led by the Chief People Officer, who is a member of the Unitary Board. HR is part of the Corporate Group, along with Finance, Commercial and Infrastructure and Laboratory Services functions which are led by the Chief Finance Officer.

Job description

What’s the role?

This role supports the Diversity & Staff Engagement team through effective administrative coordination, to support developing and delivering Agency strategies in relation to inclusion, public sector equality duty, staff wellbeing and wider staff engagement activity including coordinating the annual People Survey.

 

The role also leads in ensuring the HR intranet pages are accurate and engaging and responsive to our internal customers’ needs and supports the delivery of projects related to diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and other staff engagement. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside other professionals in the HR function on other projects and activities where capacity allows.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • To take a lead in administering the annual People Survey, acting on the alerts from Cabinet Office and ensuring that all deadlines are met, and activities happen to published timelines.
  • To maintain the diversity/wellbeing and people survey pages of the Agency intranet (called Insite) making sure they are informative and accurate, and engaging and accessible to use.
  • To extract related data and reports and to utilise other data sources such as qualitative and qualitative data provided and present in an appropriate form, i.e. PowerPoint presentations, graphics, charts and excel spreadsheets etc.
  • Working with HR colleagues who lead on Pay and Reward and HR information to produce the annual Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap reporting and the response to this through the Agency’s action plan.
  • To coordinate and act as secretary to related Groups and Networks, taking minutes, and distributing as necessary.

In addition, you will also have:

  • Experience of using technology to produce high quality. documents/charts, tables and slides.
  • Experience of managing a diverse workload from various sources
