Job description

The Director of Technology Programmes will play a key role in our continued transformation, leading a cluster of technology driven programmes with a goal to improve the technical health, remediate old systems, and upgrade aging technology for stability, efficiency and security.  It is an incredibly exciting place and opportunity to take the next steps of your career.

Person specification

We are looking for a collaborative leader with a clear vision for driving successful project management methodologies and standards.  The budget for the technology programme will be in the excess of £250m over the next three years, therefore a strong track record of managing multi-million pound technology change programmes is required as well as experience in influencing senior stakeholders.  A solid understanding of cloud models is also essential (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

Shortlist​

  • An application pre-sift will be conducted by HMRC Executive Resourcing team Resourcing, followed by an in-depth review by the Selection Panel.​
  • The panel will assess all applicants against the criteria set out in the Person Specification and will shortlist those candidates who best meet the criteria for assessment and interview.​
  • Shortlisted candidates will also have the opportunity of an informal conversation with Suzanne Newton. This isn’t a formal part of the process but an opportunity to gain greater insight into the role. This is optional, but highly recommended.​
  • All candidates shortlisted for final interview will be asked to undertake a Financial Probity check.​
