Job summary

The DIO substitute accommodation officer is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and analytical skills and a passion for making a positive contribution to the lived experience of Service personnel.   This post focuses on reviewing, scrutinising and investigation of applications for accommodation.  The scrutinsation and approving of properties identified by the industry partner ensuring it meets the strict requirements.   Running reports, scrutinising and reviewing of case work and queries.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

The DIO substitute accommodation officer supports the Substitute Accommodation Team (SAT) in ensuring the practical governance of Substitute Service Family Accommodation (SSFA) and Substitute Service Single Accommodation (SSSA) applications, investigation of case work and relevant decision making are made through 

  • Using Microsoft products and Industry Partner information systems.
  • Ensure Industry Partner conforms to JSP 464
  • Regular engagement with Industry Partner, key stakeholders, and other teams within DIO
  • Reviewing all applications and ensuring the details provided fully comply with policy.
  • Scrutinisation and approving properties for the Substitute scheme.
  • Reviewing case work relating to single and family applications and requests
  • Delivering a high standard of service to the service personnel keeping them at the heart of that delivery
  • Any other duties required, appropriate to the grade

Person specification

  • IT/Microsoft Office (desirable)
  • Some limited travel may be required
