Job description
DIO's MPP United States Visiting Forces (USVF) team act as the delivery agent for a diverse £1.8bn design and construction portfolio on USVF bases within the UK. The Assurance Manager will lead the implementation of assurance processes and function, support the USVF Learning from Experience process, drive organisational and project delivery improvements, and work with the SMEs to facilitate and support Assurance activities, including Audits, Gateway Reviews, Project Health Checks and Business Case reviews. We will ask you to:
Promote strong working relationships within the team and with other teams across DIO and MOD.
Develop and implement Assurance Strategy and Management Plans.
Develop and embed assurance processes and procedures across all areas of USVF activity.
Progress the Portfolio Assurance and Audit Programme.
Lead on the USVF Assurance Audit Programme for USVF.
Provide support to projects and appropriate SMEs.
Monitoring and highlight the value of the assurance function and its impact on delivery.
Contribute to the assurance function by supporting, facilitating and conducting all necessary assurance and audit activities.
Management of the Assurance Team, currently 1 staff.

Desirable Experience & Skills:
• Ability to review project management data with a high attention to detail.
• Experience of working in the Ministry of Defence and/or other Government Departments or Public Sector organisations.
• Knowledge and experience of working in infrastructure projects.
• Qualified lead auditor.
