Job description

We are responsible for developing and ensuring the delivery of the work to support the United States Visiting Forces Infrastructure Programme. The programme currently consists of 57 live projects with a further 77 projects in the pipeline which are being developed and will be delivered over the next 6-8 years. The team is dedicated to the delivery of this service to our US customer!

Working at the heart of a high profile Capital Infrastructure delivery team, this post sits within the Programme Management Office (PMO). The Schedule Support Manager is to provide support to the lead scheduler in scheduling for programme and project managers. They play a proactive role in knowledge management to promote programme and project management methods and standards, and the implementation of best programme and project management practice. The role provides a consultancy service to across our team. This may take the form of advice and guidance or the provision of complete schedules.

Person specification

As Scheduler Support Manager you will be responsible for

•    Supporting the lead scheduler in implementing & championing delegated MPP scheduling tools and standards
•    Contributing to the development and maintenance of scheduling standards within USVF in line with current policy.
•    Collaborating with other functions within MPP USVF and the Excellence Group
•    Providing guidance on crafting and delivering project and portfolio level schedules
•    Providing support to assurance activities where required
•    Building and maintaining schedule templates and a repository of good examples of project and programme scheduling documentation

Desirable Experience and Skills:

  • To have an awareness and knowledge of most aspects of of P3M e.g. Risk/Issue/Opportunity Management, Stakeholder Management, Benefit Management, Governance, Requirements, etc.
  •  Experience in infrastructure portfolio, programme and project assurance
  •  Experience of working in the Ministry of Defence and/or other Government departments or Public Sector organisations
  •  Experience of infrastructure delivery
  •  Experience of Microsoft Project
