Job summary

UK Security Vetting has an exciting opportunity for Developed Vetting Team Leaders to join the Developed Vetting (DV) Functions. 

As a DV Team Leader, you will manage a team of Assessors, as well as contributing to the wider management of the Function. The aim is to ensure that key aspects of the vetting process are completed within specific timeframes and with the required assurance. You will be expected to ensure the delivery team performance and engagement under your leadership is optimised to meet the quantitative and qualitative customer requirements, and that business key performance indicators are met.

Your daily duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Direct line management responsibility for a team of DV Assessors.
  • Oversea the management and analysis of performance for your team.
  • Champion transformation, innovation, and ongoing continuous improvement across your area to support the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure a culture focused on quality assurance and support continual learning.
  • Build positive working relationships across the business, and support the Delivery Manager/Assistant Head where needed with external engagement.

Person specification

As a Developed Vetting Delivery Team Leader within UK Security Vetting, we are looking for people who have the following expertise and attributes:

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Ability to identify and support the development needs of themselves and others.
  • Experienced within a fast-paced and complex operational environment.
  • Strong ability to create high-performing teams, able to set clear goals, communicate clearly and respectfully, and understand how their work fits into the organisational mission.
  • Excellent people engagement skills and a focus on building collaborative working relationships.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet changing priorities, managing a diverse workload, and optimising resources to meet current and future demand.
  • Current DV technical knowledge is desirable. 

Essential:

  • Line Manager Experience.
  • Vetting Process Knowledge.

Desirable:

  • Developed Vetting Process Knowledge.

Additional information:

A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.

At the sift stage you will be assessed on the Behaviour and Experience elements of the Success Profiles.

You will be asked to provide a 250-word statement on the Behaviour Leadership.

To assess experience you will be asked to provide a 500-word name blind (anonymous) Personal Statement.
