If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Deployment and ADI Standards Check Manager to join us at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), and we’d love to hear from you!

Job description

If successful you will lead one of the Deployment and ADI teams to enable the delivery of high quality, value for money driving test service throughout the driving test network.

Developing a high performing team to enable achievement of DVSA goals and fulfil national driving test requirements now and in the future.

Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute management responsibilities effectively and in line with DVSA policies and processes, planning and coordinating tasks and activities and taking responsibility for ensuring objectives are delivered
  • Effectively allocate examiner staff to meet DVSA service level agreements in accordance with the Business Plan Targets
  • Identify issues and make suggestions to improve business rules for examining staff
  • Deal with issues escalated through your team regarding resourcing issues
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of working practices as part of DVSA’s Business Excellence model
  • Be receptive to and develop new ideas and initiatives ensuring key messages are cascaded to your team in a timely manner

Additional information 

This role will be based in Newcastle, your presence at this location will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this. 

There may be occasional travel to Operational Team Meetings within other DVSA locations.

Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement, for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 30 hours per week.

Person specification

  • To thrive in this role, you will have strong communication skills with the ability to engage with staff at all levels.
  • You have excellent organisational and time management skills and you have experience of prioritising workloads to maximise productivity and achieve all deadlines. You will be highly adaptable and flexible, adjusting to the requirements of the role.
  • You will be a strong advocate for change and continuous improvement, recognising the benefits of promoting a change culture within your team.

Selection process details
