Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic and committed Grade SEO with strong commercial governance experience who enjoys working in fast-paced environments. This role will report to the Head of Supply Chain Management and Strategy.
You will play an important role in ensuring that the Department’s work to support remediation of unsafe buildings following the Grenfell Tower fire by ensuring that the Supply Chain Management & Strategy part of the SGB Commercial team is implemented, endorsed, and used by both internal and external stakeholders across the Portfolio.
The Building Safety Portfolio was established following the Grenfell Tower fire to make sure that high-rise buildings are safe, and that residents feel safe in them, now and in the future. The Portfolio has and still/is leading fundamental reform of the building safety system as a priority area of work for the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC).
The Commercial Supply Chain Management & Strategy team sits at the heart of the Portfolio, with the purpose of bringing together stakeholders at a Portfolio and Programme Level both internally and externally. A key part of this is to ensure that Commercial governance is effectively implemented, ensuring continuity is established and maintained through the effective management of documentation, processes and stakeholder engagement, whilst ensuring risk and opportunities are appropriately managed.
Job description
Provide a high level of support and guidance to internal and external stakeholder groups, supporting their understanding of governance and process.
Ensure that all boards, committees, associated meetings and memberships are provided with comprehensive governance and efficient support services to enable them to fulfil their roles and ensure these individuals are held to account.
Arrange, plan and support the running of governance meetings, maintaining all the appropriate governance documentation:
- Preparation and distribution of agendas
- Attending governance meetings and taking minutes
- Collating and logging actions, which are followed up on in a timely manner.
- Collating risk and issues via a RAID log
- Maintaining meeting terms of reference and linking agenda points across forums
- Deliver governance training/updates as required. Monitor and maintain any appropriate shared mailboxes and attendee calendars to ensure adequate representation at meetings
Work across the team to collate workstream updates and collate into a weekly team report to be shared within and outside of the team. Identify and log any personal development requirements Deliver training on governance and related topics as required To undertake and support other such duties as may be allocated by other members of the team (Head of Supply Chain Mgt. and or Supply Chain Manager)

- Experience in a similar role
- A good understanding of risk and PMO management
- Attention to detail
- A tenacious approach and a desire to drive actions forwards and ensure that timelines are met
- Able to make sense of often conflicting advice and steers, but gain consensus from parties and individual on a route forwards
- Great written and verbal communicator with good interpersonal skills who can foster strong relationships in what is often a challenging environment
- An organised self-starter who can work under pressure and is eager to learn
- Someone who is happy to work both on their own and as part of an exceptional team
- Competent in the use of technology and software to support their role particularly MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel

SEO salary
- The salary for this role is £38,732 (National).
- For existing civil servants, the usual policy on level transfer and promotion will apply and is non-negotiable. If you apply for a role that requires a transfer of location, for example if you are transferring from London to a National location, your salary will be adjusted in accordance with our policy on transfer between HQ pay ranges.

Internal Fraud Database
The Internal Fraud function of the Fraud, Error, Debt and Grants Function at the Cabinet Office processes details of civil servants who have been dismissed for committing internal fraud, or who would have been dismissed had they not resigned. The Cabinet Office receives the details from participating government organisations of civil servants who have been dismissed, or who would have been dismissed had they not resigned, for internal fraud. In instances such as this, civil servants are then banned for 5 years from further employment in the civil service. The Cabinet Office then processes this data and discloses a limited dataset back to DLUHC as a participating government organisations. DLUHC then carry out the pre employment checks so as to detect instances where known fraudsters are attempting to reapply for roles in the civil service. In this way, the policy is ensured and the repetition of internal fraud is prevented.
