Job description

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is interested in working at the forefront of the government's Net Zero agenda? If so, we'd like to hear from you to support the operational delivery of the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF).

IETF is a key Government project on pathway to Net Zero. Our objectives are to reduce energy costs and emissions for industry, particularly for energy intensive companies in the near-term, and to reduce the costs and risks of deep decarbonisation technologies by demonstrating those technologies, including in a cluster setting.

Our team sits within the Industrial Decarbonisation and Emissions Trading Directorate. We are a sociable and inclusive team and offer a strong learning and development package and flexible working opportunities.

Person specification

As a Delivery Coordinator you will be a part of IETF Intelligent Client team. You will support the successful delivery of the IETF, working collaboratively with delivery and policy counterparts and external and internal delivery partners.  This is an excellent opportunity to build on, or gain, valuable delivery experience and expertise within a DESNZ priority area, contributing towards delivery of wider Net Zero ambitions.

The IETF is made up of three Phases, with Phase 1 and 2 in delivery and Phase 3 launched in January 2024. As a result, you will be expected to be able to balance policy requirements with delivery needs. You will need to ensure consistency across delivery of all three phases of the fund, whilst offering suggestions for ways to improve and adapt processes for the future.

You will do this by:
- Delivering application, assessment and grant award processes, including drafting comprehensive and clear guidance documents and materials for publication
- T
racking and managing project monitoring and claims, including supervising project claim payments
- Supporting data management processes, both for financial and project data, including producing robust information for reporting
- Collaborating with PMO on key project management processes, including risk management and governance
- Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with external and internal Delivery Partners and Suppliers
- Supporting the continuous improvement of the Fund through reviewing and designing processes and products for successful fund management 
- Mentoring, supporting and encouraging others to deliver high quality outputs and results under time pressure 

Skills and experience

We would love to hear from you if you have proficiency in the following:
- Good planner and communicator who can schedule and co-ordinate work with a range of colleagues and external partners
- Motivated and enthusiastic, prepared to learn and apply new skills to deliver quality service
- Financially savvy, confident with numbers and processing and visualising of financial information
- Commercially savvy with understanding of project delivery principles and challenges
- Good risk management skills
- Able to take the initiative and spot opportunities and risks

Selection process details

We are also keen to hear about any experience you have in working with risks and times you have been involved in decision making.
