Job description

DBS is migrating their payroll system to a Cloud based Oracle HCM platform.

An Oracle HCM Cloud Functional Lead is responsible for completing configuration, testing and maintenance for the application. You will also analyse Oracle quarterly patches and present findings to DBS business areas.

As an Oracle HCM Cloud Functional Lead in the DBS you will be expected to work collaboratively and take the lead. The successful candidate will undertake development work for; Applications Maintenance (focus on ‘fix’ work) or Technical Delivery (focus on Project work) according to business demand. Specifically, oversee and execute the design, build, configuration and customisation of technical solutions, based on the pre-determined functional and technical specifications and ensure these solutions meet quality and performance requirements. As a trainee developer you will report to the Payroll Applications Lead or Payroll Integrations Lead depending on business demand.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station in Bristol, Abbey Wood North) and working from home. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

There will be an occasional requirement to visit other DBS or MOD sites, for which expenses may be claimed in accordance with the extant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of the successful candidate:

•    Supports and performs configuration tasks within the system – admin access and configuration tasks undertaken.
•    Updates REMEDY tickets with resolutions.
•    Provides tier 2/3 functional support and serves as the escalation point for unresolved configuration issues from Enquiry Centre / Civilian Personnel.
•    Works closely with colleagues and product owners to understand the requirements of the system.
•    Undertakes unit testing before handing over to the product owners and test team.
•    Conducts upgrade assessments for review by product owners.
•    Performs release tasks.
•    Supports Service/Enhancement Request management with Oracle for bugs and is responsible for escalation to  Payroll Applications Lead if required.
•    Helps to maintain Oracle HCM business processes (break-fix, incidents and enhancements).
•    Supports completion of special projects (e.g. year-end activities).
•    Ensure that assigned resources are fully utilised and liaise with Payroll Integration Lead or the Payroll Applications Lead to record current and future resource requirements.
