If so, Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) have an excellent opportunity for an engineer with GOLDesp experience to join their diverse team at RNAS Yeovilton.

The engineering position will be within the Data Management Services (DMS) team, which is responsible for data integrity and in-service support activity for platforms utilising the Engineering Through Life Support (ETLS) application, GOLDesp. DMS delivers Data Services on behalf of various DE&S and Front-Line Command customers, enabling the effective use and analysis of the application we support.

Whilst on site, you will experience our impressive range of on-site facilities which include a restaurant and free on-site parking. You will have the opportunity to witness the daily routine of a working Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS). Our sports facilities also include a fully equipped gym and swimming pool.

At DE&S, we champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance is required to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role. Please note, part time hours can be considered in line with a minimum of 80% of the full-time working pattern.

What you’ll be doing

  • Creation, maintenance and management of GOLDesp Reference Data, in order to maintain data integrity and assist the Airworthiness of all UK MOD platforms that use GOLDesp
  • Support testing and release activities on behalf of Engineering Application Manager - Air (EAM(Air)) applications and associated safety cases
  • Investigation and resolution of Pending Work Orders on behalf of our Platform customers
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert advice and support to existing and new Platform customers through all stages of the acquisition cycle.
  • Support, on request, incident resolution with respect to the industry partner, especially where there are Airworthiness or Operational Capability implications
  • Support the Engineering Application Manager (Air) team in their representation of customer views to the industry partners and contractors on all matters regarding levels of service, managing customer expectation and providing a conflict resolution service where appropriate

Person specification

To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • You will hold a minimum of a Level 4 (e.g. HNC) qualification in an Engineering/Science related discipline or demonstrate the equivalent work experience
  • You will have experience of the GOLDesp application (preferably at Boundary Cell or Aircraft Custodian level)
  • Experience of Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and Publications, such as but not limited to, Interactive Electronic Technical Publications and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals
  • You will have experience of working in an engineering environment within the Aeronautical/Aviation, or a similar sector

In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
