The Met Office is recruiting for 1, Level 4 Data Analyst apprentice in Exeter.

As our Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.

Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week.

Job description

We would look for you to join us in September 2024 with your apprenticeship training beginning shortly afterwards. You would have 1 day per week dedicated to your 20% off the job training.

Working towards the level 4 Data Analyst standard apprenticeship, the training will be delivered as effectively as possible for your learning style possibly including online as well as self-study, so candidates need to have a passion for their own development as well as be committed to the training and opportunities available.

You will be managed by a line manager and have a mentor to offer further support. In addition to the formal training with a registered training provider, you will also have in house training and on the job experience.

You will have the opportunity to work with a team on activities related to your study, allowing you to develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours in this occupation whilst contributing to Met Office aims.

In this post, you will need drive, enthusiasm, and willingness to manage data and information, translating and communicating how it can support our business goals and make a difference to every single member of the Met Office.

The post sits within the Microsoft Apps for Business Team.  You will need to become familiar with our Dynamics 365 Sales implementation (which is where the majority of reporting will be required) but also understand the relationships between this data and other data held in other Met Office Systems.

As our Apprentice Data Analyst you will become proficient in:

  • Collecting and organising corporate business data from multiple Met Office sources to provide insight.
  • Collate and analyse requirements from multiple stakeholders to propose, deliver and maintain useful and timely Management ‘Dashboards & Reports’ to support business decisions.  (Better together)
  • Act as a Data Steward by managing and understanding the DataVerse database and ensure integrity of data for both reporting and GDPR/Data Protection purposes (Keep evolving)
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration and teamwork skills. (Live and breathe it)
