Job description

In the Cyber Operations Engineer role, you will deliver day-to-day cyber security operations portfolio, responsibilities will include:

  • you will act as a cyber security specialist to support DfT
  • conducting regular security reviews, penetration tests and security health checks
  • regular liaison with a wide cross-section of IT teams to collaborate on policies and strategies.
  • working closely on a day-to-day basis with our SOC team
  • respond to cyber security-related incidents, including advanced diagnostics.

Person specification

As a Cyber Operations Engineer you will play an important role in supporting the testing, and application of security activities. Representing the team in design, architectural and project delivery forums you will have the drive and enthusiasm to contribute to the improvement of digital services, products and platforms across DfT.

Working in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers, an infrastructure engineer supports and maintains infrastructure solutions and services as directed and according to departmental policy.

Additional Information 

A minimum of 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
