About the job

Job summary

Working in the Contract Management team which has a national remit, the Contracts Manager will be positioned regionally alongside experienced Disposal team colleagues and will play a critical role in helping the agency manage the contracts we enter into with housing developers to oversee delivery of a wide range of fantastic housing projects.

Job description

The Contract Management team is a small and enthusiastic team of contract specialists who are committed to making positive changes in ensuring contractual obligations are maintained whilst at the same time as building and maintaining excellent relationships with our network of housing development partners.

The Contracts Manager will take ownership of newly instructed and existing projects in a phased way, all with the support and collaboration of a strong Contract Management team and Disposal colleagues who have already worked hard to get those projects underway. Collaboration is a critical element of this role, as the Contracts Manager will need to be able to liaise between people and teams within the agency as necessary, as well as provide a critical interface to external parties such as consultants and developers.

The role will require visits to development sites and an ability to make an assessment as to whether the works are being undertaken in accordance with our specification agreement with the developer, whilst desk-based time will include ensuring critical lease events such as payment are addressed in a timely manner.

Person specification

As an experienced Contracts Manager, you will already understand the need to be able to clearly interpret contract and lease clauses, be highly organised, methodical, and have the skills to communicate with a wide variety of specialists, and all of those skills will be used to succeed in this role.

You will be comfortable with being on construction sites in an observational capacity, and be able to adhere to site rules and the protocols established by the site manager.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a national team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
