Job summary

The Public Works Department is one of the largest departments in the Falkland Islands Government, with responsibility for the development, construction and maintenance of key infrastructure required to support our community in the Falkland Islands.  The Contracts Engineer role is responsible for overseeing all capital works and other assigned projects within the Public Works Department.

Job description

The role will involve assisting the Director of Public Works with the management of a variety of capital infrastructure projects, such as utilities improvements, land development projects, road and drainage upgrades and housing construction.  The department seeks continuous improvement initiatives and the provision of management systems, processes and structures in line with corporate policies.

Person specification

Candidates should hold a recognised civil engineering degree, or similar, and have a minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience in a similar post, preferably including project development and CAD.

Selection process details

Shortlisting will commence on 01 February 2024.  Interviews will commence on 12 February 2024.
