Job summary

The Selborne contract delivers 85% of the RN's training through Team Fisher (Capita, Raytheon, Fujitsu & University of Lincoln) the Contractor has responsibility for management and delivery of the training output for all in-scope training.

The Authority’s role is to ensure standards are maintained, services are delivered and to oversee, assure, consult, inform and influence, but not to determine the way the Contractor delivers its services. 

The CSO West is responsible for assurance of Business as Usual delivery for the Royal Navy's establishments in the South West of England. Whilst this position is based in Portsmouth, regular travel to RNAS Culdrose, HMS Raleigh, BRNC Dartmouth and CTCRM Lympstone will be required.

Job description

Contract Support Officers manage the business-as-usual delivery of the Selborne contract.  The CSO is empowered to manage the delivery of services on contract in accordance with agreed levels of service/output and performance for their Establishments.The post holder acts as the interface between the Authority and Contractor (“the face of the Authority”), building and maintaining collaborative working arrangements and ensuring training is delivered and change implemented.

Support your line manager in managing the business-as-usual delivery of the services under the Selborne contract in accordance with agreed levels of service/output and performance. Represent the Contract Designated Officer at Training Establishment level, acting as the Establishment point of contact for business-as-usual delivery and administration of the Selborne contract.

Operate the “Front Door Process” for change requirements, triage requirements, guiding customers through the process and complying with TMG and Navy Command processes.

Support the Operations and Delivery team regarding in matters relating to their establishments.

Through regular liaison with the TMG Commercial team liaise commercial issues at the earliest opportunity  

Person specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to delivery sound management of a contract, through managing their contractor, liaising with stakeholders and making sound decisions to support the outputs of the TMG.

Previous experience in a contract management or service delivery role would be advantageous though not essential.

The successful candidate would be offered the opportunity to gain the pan government Contract Management Capability Programme training and accreditation up to Expert level.
