About the job

Job summary

Are you passionate about Continuous Improvement (CI) and using change management methodology to drive excellence? If so, we now have a fantastic opportunity to join our Transformation & Technology (T&T) directorate as a Continuous Improvement Practitioner. It is a very exciting time to join for HM Land Registry (HMLR) as we continue to embark on a significant transformation programme and you will play a key role in supporting its delivery.

HM Land Registry is a successful, high-performing, innovative organisation. For more than 150 years HM Land Registry has protected and guaranteed people’s land and property rights by keeping and maintaining the Land Register for England and Wales.

HMLR aims to become the world's leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.

Job description

As a member of the Continuous Improvement Team, you will play a vital role in promoting, supporting and embedding a culture of a sustainable change and continuous improvement across the organisation. You will use your knowledge and experience of CI methodologies to positively influence HM Land Registry’s (HMLR's) organisational performance.

The predominate focus of your role will be working with our Corporate Services teams, implementing visual management, building CI capability and refining their CI journeys to provide an optimum environment for teams to fulfil their potential.

You will also support national change programmes and projects with identifying improvements and efficiencies, ensuring that new systems and work routines are developed to maximise value to our customers and the organisation.

Regular travel to other HMLR office's may be required, with overnight stays expected where appropriate.

Please see the attached Candidate Pack for further information on this role and our fantastic rewards package.

Person specification

To be successful in this role you must be competent in process mapping and proficient in applying CI tools and techniques in a continuous improvement delivery environment. You will also be experienced in developing, delivering or supporting continuous improvement training/implementation programmes and building trusted working relationships with colleagues at all levels in a complex multi-site organisation.

As an effective communicator, you will be able to influence, persuade and constructively challenge in a professional yet courageous manner, to maintain positive working relationships. You will also have sound coaching and mentoring skills.

Upon joining HMLR, a training needs analysis will be carried out and where required training and development will be provided. This will include supporting you to obtain professionally recognised qualifications, such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, if you do not already have them.

Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Benefits

Alongside your salary of £41,887, HM Land Registry contributes £11,309 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Find out what benefits a Civil Service Pension provides.
