About the job

Job summary

The Commercial Officer works to complete administrative processes across the Commercial Section business area. The Commercial Section is part of the Facilities Management and Commercial department, within the Corporate Services division. This is a combined department that delivers both FM helpdesk services alongside Commercial outcomes. Staff are specialised, but expected to assist with tasks in either part of the department where required.

The role principally handles the administration of counsel records for the SFO. This is an important task, and demands interaction with senior members of the organisation. Besides this, the Commercial Officer provides general business support services to the department, and will occasionally be required to assist with work in the FM area.

Job description

As a Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for the Commercial inbox, and administering the inbox to ensure correspondence is effectively directed to the rest of the team.
  • Responding to queries regarding counsel, drafting counsel engagement letters, and administering the counsel database.
  • Maintaining the contracts database, and publishing contractual notices as and when required.
  • Assisting with contract management activities.
  • If required, assisting switchboard calls in line with guidance provided by Strategic Relations.
  • Assisting with project work within the Commercial Section and, where required, in FM.
