The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero is tasked with ‘delivering security of energy supply, ensuring properly functioning markets, greater energy efficiency and seizing the opportunities of Net Zero to lead the world in new green industries’This is a fantastic chance to work at the centre of the Department as its Commercial Director, offering challenging work on some of the biggest issues facing the country. 

Job description

This is the most senior Commercial role in DESNZ and as such, you will provide leadership to the Commercial directorate, develop and deliver the overall commercial strategy for the Department and be accountable for all commercial arrangements and supplier performance. 

Importantly, you will also have a wider functional role, overseeing all commercial activity with our Partner Organisations and Arms Length Bodies which include Nuclear Decommissioning Agency, Great British Nuclear and UKAEA.

Within the department you will be accountable for ensuring that DESNZ is making sound commercial decisions that support the development and delivery of great policies in areas such as Energy Security, Energy Affordability, and Net Zero.
