Job description

  • Overseeing the delivery of accelerated development schemes.
  • Leading on the development of positive action initiatives and inclusive practices within accelerated development schemes to improve diversity of candidates.
  • Leading on the development, identification and sourcing of suitable additional accelerated development schemes to expand our career development offer for staff.
  • Creating and implementing an internal DCMS careers offer 
  • Leading on the delivery elements of the DCMS talent strategy including supporting talent data and succession planning activities at senior grades including the introduction of new capability frameworks
  • Working with the Communications team to develop clear communications plans to support activity and promote and share development activities throughout the year.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of the organisation’s senior talent and development strategies.

Person specification

Essential Requirements: 

  • A proven track record of successfully delivering programme plans
  • Great organisational skills with the ability, resilience and flexibility to work at pace delivering against multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to address issues and challenges with a range of audiences
  • Passion for your own continuing professional development
  • An ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with a wide range of diverse stakeholders to deliver business outcomes
  • A willingness to flex the approach as the needs for the refocused department evolve

Desirable Skills:

  • CIPD qualified desirable or willingness to undertake qualification via apprenticeship
  • An ability to gather and use information, data, insight and evidence to make recommendations on priority and complex issues
  • Experience of delivering development interventions based on organisational requirements

The interview process will assess behaviours and strengths and potentially include a presentation.

New entrants are expected to join on the minimum of the pay band.
