Job description

The Enterprise Design Authority provides architectural and design expertise and direction for the NCA based on our mission, strategy and Agency Operation Model. It maintains the NCA’s business architecture on behalf of the Board and ensures that investment and change decisions are strategically aligned. 

EDA-B is the Head of Profession for enterprise design and business analysis, delivering high-quality artefacts to support key business transformation initiatives, and has a key role in their governance and scrutiny.

Main Responsibilities:

You will be working with key stakeholders, business leads and colleagues in Change and other enabling functions to:

  • Provide Business Design Leadership, Architectural Insight, Design Assurance and Design Delivery to a range of business and technical programmes and projects to enable the effective identification and management of design risk.
  • Develop the NCA’s enterprise architecture baseline, utilising the full suite of architecture and analytical tools, techniques and products.  
  • Provide business architecture insights to support Senior Design Managers in leading the design of NCA programmes and projects. 
  • Support the NCA to become a mature, enterprise-thinking, collaborative design organisation.
  • Provide design assurance through effective engagement with programmes and projects, product reviews and conducting formal business design gates aligned to EASE methodology.
  • Support the scoping and design of NCA initiatives, programmes and projects, which informs the construction of the NCA’s Change Portfolio, as well as continuous improvement and business as usual activities, through business-led design.
  • Build effective partner relations and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels across a mixed economy of business, change and professional services teams.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of SOC threats, the NCA’s strategic and operational goals, and the changing capabilities required to tackle them; using these to inform how the NCA needs to change, via the Transformation agenda and Portfolio.
