Job description

This job role is within Digital Services and Technology in the Vehicle Certification Agency. The Senior Business Analyst understands the strategic context and leads analysis within large and complex projects.  This role reports into the Lead Product Manager and is part of a multi-disciplinary team who develop and manage a broad suite of digital products and applications.

Your main duties may include the following, but not limited to:

  • Develop a good understanding of vehicle certification processes.
  • Identify and analyse issues and opportunities that may improve experience for VCA customers.
  • Lead engagement with stakeholders, analysing business requirements and user needs to agree detailed functional and technical specifications and plans.
  • Represent real-world situations to aid communication and understanding of different scenarios, whether existing, proposed, or conceptual. This involves visualizing processes, systems, data, and roles and responsibilities.
  • Developing a good understanding of business processes, identifying and analyzing issues and opportunities for improvement, gathering and analyzing data related to the costs and benefits of product changes
  • Owns stakeholder relationships to agree on detailed functional and technical specifications and plans
  • Manages communities of practice activities
  • Mentors others in best practice.

Person specification

In order to be successful in this post, candidates will need the following:

  • Proven experience in agile working
  • Proven experience in business process improvement, modelling and testing
  • Experience working in digital programmes, ideally as a Business Analyst.
  • Demonstrable experience of requirements definition and management
  • Extensive stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Knowledge and experience of enterprise and business architecture
  • Examples of previous projects of defining test condition requirements.

Additional Information

A minimum of 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace or on location testing.
