Job summary

To support the efficient functioning of MDPs and Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) and Body-Worn Video (BWV) Equipment.


This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

Provide technical and administrative support to SPOs, SPOCs and users of BWV equipment and the Digital Evidence Management System.

Monitor the group mailbox, manage the team calendar and limited sharepoint site, deal with issues within own area of responsibility and draw new tasks and updates to the appropriate BWV team member.

Maintain and develop own knowledge of law and procedures related to BWV

Test Axon new releases on the Test Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) to establish the impact of changes on MDP settings and report back to the BWV System Manager / BWV officer

 Check the evidence files on DEMS against the BWV Check Form to ensure: -

·         Officers are using BWV in accordance with NPCC and MDP guidelines, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures. 

·         The evidence files on DEMS are named, categorised, and retained in accordance with force and national guidelines.

·         All viewing and sharing of evidence files are justified and correctly recorded on DEMS.

Report any concerns or issues to the BWV Officer, BWV System Manager, or other suitable person.

Update the Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) Body-Worn Video (BWV) Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) as required by the BWV System Manager to ensure that evidence categories and user role profiles remain relevant and fit for purpose as legislation, official guidance, procedures and the locations and tasks of the MDP change.

Create and activate new user accounts on the DEMS, selecting the appropriate role profile for each officer.

Register new MDP BWV equipment on the DEMS using naming protocols which make it easy to identify the location and use of the equipment. Deal with returns and re-allocation of equipment, as necessary.

Maintain records which track the allocation and use of BWV equipment.

Support the BWV Systems Manager and Body-Worn Video Systems Officer in their BWV tasks, as necessary.

 

Person specification

Maths GCSE grade 4 or Functional Skills equivalent

English GCSE grade 4 or Functional Skills equivalent

The job holder must be proficient in the use of the following Microsoft Office applications; outlook, word, forms and excel

Current driving licence valid in the UK which includes category B

The job holder must be able to navigate and use the specialist DEMS software (Training will be given)

 The job holder must be conversant with Ministry of Defence Police, National Police Chiefs Council and College of Policing guidelines on the use of Body-Worn Video and able to apply the principles in these documents to the evidence files they check. (Training will be given)
