We are looking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Band 5 Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor to work within our team located at the Neptune Medical Centre, His Majesty's (HM) Naval Base Clyde, Helensburgh.

This is a full-time position at 37.5 hrs per week.

Job description

The successful candidate will be work within the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Programme (DMRP) providing a high standard of exercise based rehabilitation including highly specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area for the Population at Risk (PAR), meeting Standards for Better Health by using a multidisciplinary approach.

You will provide full support to the line manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work, peer review and support to Junior/other ERIs working within the Unit.

Person specification

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing appropriate clinical assessments and to design and implement safe and progressive exercise treatment schedules for all patients after the MO/Physiotherapist has made a diagnosis.
  • Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential.
  • Providing clinical reports to assist in the comprehensive discharge planning for both referring source and ongoing patient care under other health professionals.
  • Providing a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high quality.
  • Supporting and attending weekly and monthly Special Interest Group and Clinical Governance Meetings where audit, research, service and policy development are conducted within the multidisciplinary team environment.
