Joining our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) team as an computing engineer, you’ll help Ofgem become an industry leader and ensure consumers receive top-quality and cost-effective energy. Working with experienced mentors across the department, you’ll have the opportunity to upskill in new technologies throughout your career.

You’ll play a key role in delivering our strategy by establishing a unified digital workplace services (Office 365) to Ofgem’s workforce at home and in the office. This will include identifying and gathering all electronic information to support the eDiscovery solutions in Microsoft, performing end-user support for staff and responsibility for supporting internal and external issues. You’ll be part of an established, experienced team and support the infrastructure operations engineers in their day-to-day work.

Strong interpersonal skills will further allow you to quickly identify and understand raised issues and solve problems efficiently.

Ofgem is a non-ministerial government department and an independent National Regulatory Authority. Key Responsibilities

As an associate end user computing engineer for Microsoft Office O365 Platform you will play a part in the delivery DDaT’s strategy for Digital Workplaces Services by establishing unified digital workplace services (Office 356) to Ofgem’s workforce at home or in the office.

 

  • Responsible for identifying and bring together all electronic information (emails and documents) into Office 365, to support the eDiscovery solutions in Microsoft 365
  • Perform end-user support in accordance with ITIL or similar processes (incidents, service requests, etc.).
  • Responsible for supporting issues for external customers across O365 products and Exchange
  • Provision of Technical Support and understanding to our Business Adoption Teams, to support the adoption of the Microsoft 365 Apps Catalogue.
  • As a trainee, you will work in an established team and support infrastructure operations engineers in their daily work, under their direction.

Key Outputs and Deliverables

  • Proactively support the migration of emails from Mail Meter and Enterprise Vault to Office 365
  • Maintain and Run the eDiscovery solutions in Microsoft 365
  • Proactively support the migration of documents from SharePoint to SharePoint Online and/or integration with Harmoin.ie
  • You will work collaboratively to ensure that a set of IT products, suppliers and vendors come together to deliver an IT service.
  • You will update and maintain technical documentation

Person specification

  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 – Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint Online (LEAD)
  • Experience in Active Directory User and Group management
  • First-line support of IT Devices – Laptops and Mobile Devices
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Security & Compliance (Purview) – especially eDiscovery
