The role of a Digital Forensics Specialist is to ensure that computer systems and products used by the organisation are operating to the highest standards of security. This requires the skills and motivation to examine our systems with both a proficient wide breadth of knowledge of various operating systems as well as an awareness of the underlining engineering aspects of computer-based systems.

The role also encompasses assisting with the resolution of security incidents in a detailed and timely manner, with adherence to all the associated legal requirements.

You will become part of a dynamic fast paced team delivering significant impact and ensuring that the organisation is a figurehead in digital forensics techniques.

More About You

The successful candidate will be expected to have most of the following:

  • A degree or relevant experience in either a Digital Forensics or Computer Engineering discipline.
  • Awareness of writing software applications or creating scripts.
  • Exposure to performing digital forensic analysis on PC or mobile devices.
  • A high motivation to develop their technical competency.

To strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Experience of the use of Digital Forensic tools such as X-Ways, Encase or Cellebrite.
  • A broad understanding of many operating systems.
  • Knowledge of filesystems
  • A proficient knowledge of Python or another scripting language.
  • Experience with Pen Testing

Job description

Using your diverse range of skills within the Digital Forensics team you will:

  • Perform image extractions from computer and mobile devices.
  • Evaluate operating systems to identify malware or files of interest.
  • Create accurate and comprehensive reports to be assessed by security stakeholders.
  • Research new acquisition and evaluation techniques.
  • Create or develop tools to enhance the team’s capability.
