We’re looking for an outstanding Associate Change and Implementation Manager who will support the end-to-end implementation of digital projects into the business or be responsible for one or more deliverables within part of the wider Service Team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Children, Retirement and Counter Fraud Directorate. You will join the Retirement Services Programme which is developing several services which support some of DWP’s most vulnerable citizens.

You will be working alongside Service Delivery teams and Retirement operational colleagues to implement the delivery of these digital services within the business to ensure they are viable, will deliver value, complies with identified business needs and enhances business practises and opportunities.

Job description

  • As an Associate Change and Implementation Manager you will work with various Digital Services, managing a varied stakeholder environment, and ensuring the pace for business implementation aligns with sprint planning requirements.
  • The role would require you to create communications plans and be responsible for executing them for all DWP Place changes, including creating a range of communication types and presenting to senior DWP stakeholders, ensuring they are engaged and bought into the change.
  • You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within DWP Place and with key stakeholders, to prepare and update implementation and the adoption of the change, ensuring benefits and outcomes can be planned for and delivered within the agreed timescale.
  • Analyse and understand the impacted audiences, creating change impact assessments and training needs analysis for each business unit. Deliver them in the correct tone of voice to stakeholders, ensuring the change is linked to the business requirements.
  • Create a range of different training documentation and material, delivering to users across all areas of DWP, ensuring the training is understood and adopted.
  • Collaborate with the project Business Analyst and Delivery Managers on a regular basis covering any material inputs, reviews, or queries to assist with the change delivery message.
  • Work with business areas to build a detailed understanding of the Minimal Viable Product (MVP), awareness of future iterations to support ongoing business development and any relating defects to the service.
  • Continuously track and analyse adoption KPIs, creating re-enforcement communications to correct user behaviour where necessary.
  • Encourage collaboration and good communication within the team, managing conflict and helping to establish a positive team culture.

Person specification

  • Show a positive approach to stakeholders and business priorities, promoting a culture of following the appropriate procedures to ensure results are achieved on time whilst enabling innovation.
  • Work with others to identify areas for improvement and simplify processes to use fewer resources. Encourage ideas for change from a wide range of sources. Clearly explain the reasons for change to colleagues and how to implement them, supporting individuals with different needs to adapt to change.
  • Encourage an environment where colleagues know that they can challenge decisions and issues safely.
  • Take managed risks by fully considering the varied impacts changes could have on the diverse range of end users.
  • Communicate in a straightforward, honest, and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles to maximise understanding and impact.
  • Encourage the use of different communication methods, so that important messages are communicated with colleagues and stakeholders respectfully, taking into consideration the diversity of interests.

As part of the role, it would be desirable if you had the criteria listed below. If you don't meet the below criteria, full training and development will be provided to the successful candidate.

  • Experience using the ServiceNow product to manage workload, capacity and progress is preferred.
  • Agile practitioner certification or experience working within a large project using Agile methodology.
  • An understanding in Prosci ADKAR Change Management Framework, a certification is preferred, which will assist in driving change by preparing, equipping, and supporting users through the change.

Location

Hybrid Working

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home.  This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.


Salary Information

Pay for this role is from £35,711 - £36,545

Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.

Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.
