Job summary

We are currently looking for an Assistant HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team within the Corporate group.

This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.  

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.

We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly. Remote working is potentially available for some specific roles. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment.

The HR Group has a key role in developing organisational capability and managing both current and predicted people risks effectively in order to enable organisational development and people resourcing needs; in pursuit of the Agency vision and priorities and in line with Agency values.

The HR Business Partnering team partners with managers at a strategic and operational level, enabling them to lead their teams effectively to deliver good business and patient outcomes. They work in partnership with HR colleagues to deliver and contribute to the People strategy and implementation of this strategy, in line with Group and agency business plans. They also sit on the SMT for the groups they support and ensure people aspects are considered.

What’s the role?

The post holder will work in a friendly and supportive team working alongside the Head of HR Business Partnering supporting 3 organisational Groups. They will work closely with managers offering support and guidance on all employee relations issues, escalating where appropriate. They will contribute to HR projects, working with other HR colleagues across the Agency. 

 

 

 

 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • To quickly and effectively build and maintain strong and credible relationships with managers at all levels within the client area and to develop in-depth understanding of the work of the organisation.
  • To provide advice to managers to contribute to effective management of staff and meet governance requirements.
  • To effectively advise on and manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance.
  • To work in partnership with managers at a strategic level to constructively challenge and identify opportunities for change and development.

Who are we looking for? 

Our successful candidate will: 

  • Be a graduate or chartered member of the CIPD, or currently undertaking a qualification
  • Have experience working with managers at all levels, leading employee relations cases from start to finish
  • Be adept at building relationships quickly and seeing the bigger picture
