Job summary

The role will lead a team to deliver operational training and coaching support to staff engaged in the vetting process, working to ensure professional knowledge remains up-to-date and in line with vetting decision framework and customer expectations.

Job description

  • Lead a team in the delivery range of training programmes focused on vetting policy and processes to ensure that new entrants to the organisation have the knowledge required to undertake their roles and existing staff can be cross-skilled and trained as required.
  • Lead the design and development of training interventions in response to changes in the policy or process landscape across the vetting product lines.
  • Oversee the provision of a programme of CPD activities aimed at upskilling vetting delivery teams on key aspects of risk and/or the vetting process.
  • Oversee mentoring programmes for operational delivery training aimed at building capability and skills for individual colleagues to ensure quality standards are being met, including liaising with the Quality Assurance Function on performance measures and standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across UKSV to ensure that training programmes are relevant, share updates to policy and maintain the quality of the training programmes.

Person specification

  • Work with the Learning and Development team in areas of cross-over, supporting the roll out of new training products developed within the Transformation programme, skills development activities or accreditation of mentors within the Vetting Academy against quality standards.
  • Develop a Train the Trainer strategy across UKSV and ensure the relevant training and support is provided.
  • Work closely with Quality and Assurance to identify trends in training needs.
  • Develop a training strategy that incorporates Business Continuity.

Essential:

  • Experience of leading operational training functions or similar.
  • Track-record of developing programmes using good quality and robust evidence and stakeholder insight.
  • Exposure of leading a team of professionals with a mix of experiences and skills.
  • Experience of working in an ambiguous and fast-changing environment.
  • Experience of Operational Delivery in a fast-paced environment.
  • An effective Change Agent.

Desirable:

  • An understanding of the Vetting Process and Vetting System.

Additional information:

A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
