The Finance Team at The National Archives is part of the Corporate Services Directorate along with IT Operations and Estates & Facilities.

The Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions sit within the Financial Accounting team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth day to day operations of all transactional processing.

We are looking for an individual to join the Financial Accounting team, reporting to the Finance Manager, to work on all aspects of AP and AR. The purpose of the role is to ensure the long-term stability and success of our transactional processing; delivering excellent customer service to the business while adhering to all relevant policies and processes and maintaining compliance with all statutory regulations.

This is a part time role of 21.6 hours per week (0.6 FTE).

A combination of onsite and home working is available and applicants should be able to regularly travel to our Kew site for a minimum of 60% of their work time.

SC-level Security Clearance or willingness to obtain SC clearance is mandatory for this role and requires that you have lived in the UK for the last 3 years. The length of required residency may depend on individual circumstances.

Essential criteria:

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with high-level interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with others.
  • A team player with a flexible approach, willing to assist with various as hoc tasks where required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience of working within a financial environment.
  • Experience of working with data.
