Job summary

The Assistant Director for Affordable Housing Delivery will play an important role in the Affordable Housing Grants team. Working closely with the Director of Affordable Housing, you will be joining a large and highly experienced team, who are committed to the delivery of more affordable housing.

 

Job description

You will lead a team responsible for the delivery and contract management of multi-billion-pound affordable housing grant programmes and ensure that delivery is managed to target and within programme parameters. You will work flexibly and collaboratively to drive successful performance and take a considered, innovative and creative approach to complex programme and delivery issues. 

 

You will manage a significant volume of relationships with delivery partners and the housing sector, working closely with both cross Agency and Government departments. As part of the Affordable Housing team you will be part of culture that values diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making, problem solving and inclusion. You will balance day to day delivery whilst also supporting the development of the Affordable Housing offering to the sector.

Person specification

You’ll bring significant experience of leading large and diverse teams and projects across a range of work streams, working in a collaborative and inclusive way. With this you will have strong background in delivery and programme management and a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes.

 

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing diverse stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational requirements linked to affordable housing delivery. You'll be comfortable supporting the sector with complex issues, aiming to support partners deliver their programmes.

 

You will enjoy working within a fast-paced environment, turn around objectives with efficiency and accuracy and handle changing and expansive portfolios. You will also be an excellent communicator and be able to negotiate and persuade with confidence. 

 

You will have significant experience and expansive knowledge of the affordable housing sector and possess a sophisticated understanding of the diverse range of partners involved in the delivery model particularly their development function.
